Privacy policy
Jadual is a class timetable app for Android. It is built so that your timetable never leaves your phone. This page explains exactly what the app stores, what it sends, and why.
Who is responsible
Jadual is developed by Haziq, an individual developer. Contact: haziq.support.dev@gmail.com.
The short version
- Your timetable, subjects and settings are stored on your phone. If your phone's Android backup is on, Android also keeps a copy in your own Google account; we never see it.
- There is no account and no sign-up.
- There are no ads, no analytics and no trackers.
- The only data that leaves your phone is what Google Play needs to process a purchase of Jadual Pro, described below.
What is stored on your phone
Your semesters, subjects, activities, class times, rooms, lecturer names, archived semesters and settings (theme, language, time format and similar). This data is stored in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. We cannot see it.
Android backup
Jadual uses Android's own backup. If backup is turned on for your phone (Settings, then Google, then Backup, or similar on your phone), Android copies the app's private data to your own Google account about once a day, while the phone is charging and on Wi-Fi, and puts it back when you reinstall Jadual or move to a new phone. This copy is made and held by Google under Google's privacy policy, is tied to your Google account, and is not visible to us. Changes made after the last backup are not included. You can turn Android backup off in your phone's settings at any time; exporting a .jadual file is always available as your own copy.
Files the app writes
When you choose Save image in the wallpaper maker, Jadual saves a picture of your timetable to Pictures/Jadual. When you export a semester, it saves a .jadual file where you choose and a copy in Download/Jadual. These files stay on your phone unless you share them yourself.
If you choose your own photo as a wallpaper background, Android lets Jadual open only that one picture. Jadual keeps a resized copy in its private storage so it can redraw the wallpaper each morning. The copy never leaves your phone and is left out of Android backup. Choosing another photo replaces it, and uninstalling Jadual deletes it.
Purchases
Jadual is free to use. Jadual Pro is sold through Google Play, which acts as the merchant and processes your payment under Google's privacy policy. We never see your payment details.
To check whether Pro is unlocked, the app uses RevenueCat as a processor. RevenueCat receives the purchase receipt from Google Play and a random, anonymous app user ID generated on your phone. It does not receive your name, email or timetable. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Permissions and why they are needed
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Set wallpaper | To put your timetable on the lock screen or home screen when you ask. |
| Run at startup | To keep reminders and the morning wallpaper redraw scheduled after the phone restarts. |
| Notifications | To show class and exam reminders. Android asks you first, and you can turn it off at any time. |
| Alarms and reminders | To ring a reminder at the minute you chose. Without it, reminders still arrive, a few minutes early. |
| Internet and network state | Only for checking and restoring a Pro purchase with Google Play and RevenueCat. |
| Google Play billing | To buy Jadual Pro. |
| Keep awake and background work | Used by Android's scheduler to redraw the wallpaper at 06:00. |
None of these permissions give the app access to your contacts, location, photo library, messages or other apps. A wallpaper photo is opened only when you pick it yourself.
Export and deletion
You can export any semester to a plain file from Settings at any time, and import it on another phone. The file goes wherever you choose to save or share it; the app does not upload it anywhere.
Uninstalling Jadual, or clearing its data in Android settings, deletes everything the app stored on your phone except files you saved to Pictures or Download. If Android backup is on, the copy in your Google account stays until Google removes it or you delete it from your Google account's backups. We hold no copy, so there is nothing further for us to delete. For purchase records held by Google Play or RevenueCat, email us and we will help with a deletion request.
Children
Jadual is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
